The Chairman of the Institute, HRH Prince Osman Rifat Ibrahim conducted a historical presentation, underlining the legacy of Mohamed Ali Pasha, with his inspiring & effective leadership in the turbulent times of early 19th century. The presentation also included the current charitable activities of the Institute in Kavala (The Center for the Protection of Children and the Therapeutic Center for Chronic Illnesses, from Institute’s delegations of Greece and Russia)
All members of the Association of the Greeks from Egypt, its Board, Diplomatic and Academic attendees welcomed this special event; particularly to the senior members of the Association, bringing fond memories of their lives in Egypt a few decades_ago.
The Greek community in Egypt, has always been a numerous and vibrant community since antiquity, in the field of Arts, Economy and Culture.
Mohamed Ali Pasha was instrumental in inviting large number of Greeks, to boost his vision of modernization in business & industry. In the mid-20th Century, HRH Prince Amr Ibrahim, the father of HRH Prince Osman Rifat Ibrahim, was the Royal Protector & Patron of the Greek Communities of Egypt.
Following the presentation, HRH Prince Osman Rifat Ibrahim, awarded the Honorary Medal & Diploma of the Institute to the distinguished new members.
